Lesson learned

 Welp I managed to delete 8 months worth of work from my Google Drive.  

In an effort to repurpose the budget for a Podcacst I managed to unsubscribe from Google G Suite Enterprise. I found a better audio and video platform to record remotely. 

Today I learned that this also deleted the DRIVE folder instead of just reverting to teh free storage level and it also killed my buzz@racecarmechanic.com e mail. 

Lesson learned. 

As we used to say in the barn, Start over, do better and don't fuck it up this time !

 02/09/2022  Well reader Rona is on fade mode and that means going to in-person interviews.  I have some great audio and stories from Bob Earl   that I needs to edit and we have planned more Google Teams time but as the months plough by, a road trip is in order.  After all, no one will want to watch a "zoom movie" after all this - but audio is always useful. Also Jacques and I will have a talk and with the assistance of World Speed Motorsports we will have a proper location to film. I must say that 2 years on the grad to get this going properly for the filming has been a drag but -  as with the renewing force of Spring - I'm ready to get to it.  Hope reader is well  SU Carburettor Jet - Lean for Racing

Hi Follower I finally found a copy on eBay. Almost 20 years after one of the ownership groups attempted to sell them to the employees at a mark up price; lols.  Sure it's an Esso Sponsored marketing piece but its pretty neat. After I read this and the big storms pass I'll get back to Jacques and try to get his memories fired up again.  Meanwhile, I roam around You Tube for Adobe Premiere Pro getting my head around the process of editing with the fantastic  @AdobeColin   . Also,  I have been making my files orderly based on Colin's formatting.  After three years of gathering photo assets and interviews I have quite a bit of information and images. If the power stays on I'll be ahead of being behind.

 Last week's record heat and smoke allowed for inside work:  Boom Mic Stand assembled. Tested Sony audio recorder.  Interview seat procured. Two Camera test set at Covid Friendly distances. Tripod w/level quick disconnect tested. Lapel Mic test with Sony.  Mini & Standard SD cards formatted & tested. Additional Canon batteries charges and tested.  A gob of cables assembled and tested. Lighting equipment acquired and tested.  Video & Audio test in ShotCut.  Global contacts made with participants that will Google Meets.  Royalty Free Images are being gathered...  Interview outline started. Story Board begun.  Mentor call resulted in more homework! I have estimated that this will be a five year project from start to finish.  The work is nothing compared to the work done by the Race Car Mechanics.
